Flowers of the Palu di leche

Rubber vine that strangles and kills trees. It has very thin roots that spread underground ( like mushroom roots ). A scary plant! The vine takes the shape and size of the plant it is killing. This rubber vine was brought to the island with hopes to win rubber. The plan did not work out well. The vine is popping up everywhere and it is very hard to unroot it.

PERSBUREAU CURAÇAO - Curaçao heeft er een nieuw inheems knaagdier bij, de Dushimys larsi.
En dat is bijzonder, want het eiland had tot nu toe maar één inheems knaagdiertje: een zeldzame, kleine veldmuis. Het nieuwe exemplaar stierf weliswaar 100.000 jaar geleden uit, maar in een grot in het oostelijk gedeelte van Duivelsklip heeft Harvard-student Jelle Zijlstra zeventien fossielen gevonden van het nieuwe oude knaagdier. Zijn vondst is beschreven in het vaktijdschrift Zootaxa.
